DECEMBER 2: Making yours a Cracking Citrussy Christmas⁣ #lovecitrus⁣
Welcome to The Lemon Grove’s Festive Kitchen ⁣

Quick tip when you making pastry for your mince pies … grate in a little clementine, tangerine or a similar citrus zest 🍊 for a delicious tangy bite.⁣

Modern mince pies are filled with fruits and spices and were introduced by Crusading knights who bought a version ( with meat) back from the Middle East. ⁣

These ingredients were said to represent  gifts the three wise men gave to the baby Jesus in Bethlehem, hence the link to such pies being made at this time of year.⁣

I like mine with with a heavy dusting of icing sugar and a generous dollop of cream. ⁣

How about you … how do you eat them, or perhaps you don’t like them at all 😳
