Congratulations to The School of Artisan Food at Welbeck, Nottinghamshire for beating dozens of other cookery schools from across the country to win the accolade of Cookery School of the Year at the British Cookery School Awards 2014. The School also won best large professional cookery school for the second year running.

The event was hosted by head judge and BBC Radio 2’s food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden at Porchester Hall in London
Nigel said one of the reasons for the school to take the title was that the school has “a passionate team that thinks big but delivers on the detail. They have hand-picked the very best artisans to share their knowledge and expertise and are the only not-for-profit organisation in the UK dedicated to teaching skills in artisan food production.”

Joe Piliero of The School of Artisan Food added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be named Cookery School of the Year on top of being chosen as Best Large Professional School. We were up against some of the best of Britain’s cookery schools, so this is an outstanding achievement for all of us at the School, just amazing!”
